The JUCJET TG-A1 PMR446 is a slim, licence-free walkie talkie for families, hikers and small teams in the EU and the UK: 16 PMR446 channels at 0.5 W, 50 CTCSS tones plus DCS codes, hands-free VOX, a channel lock and a detachable 1000 mAh battery that charges over USB-C, with up to 118 hours on standby. It is sold as a 2-pack in sky blue, blue or green. Quick start

  1. Charge first. Each radio runs on a detachable 3.7 V 1000 mAh Li-ion battery. The supplied USB charger’s 2-in-1 USB-C cable charges both radios at once; a phone charger, power bank or laptop works too. Do not transmit while the radio is charging.
  2. Same channel on every radio. Switch both radios on with the top knob, then pick the same channel with the two side keys. If a radio has the channel lock on, the side keys will not change the channel – that is intended, so nobody changes channel by accident.
  3. Talk. Press and hold PTT, wait half a second, then speak; release to listen. Only one radio can transmit on a channel at a time.
  4. Privacy codes, VOX and side-key functions are set with PC programming software and a programming cable through the speaker/mic jack (cable not included). The radio works out of the box without them.

Channels & frequencies

The table is the standard 16-channel analogue PMR446 reference plan, not a readout of this radio. The factory channel map and CTCSS/DCS values for your batch have not been verified here; a channel number alone does not prove that two radios use the same frequency.

CTCSS/DCS is selective squelch, not encryption; it does not make the channel private or increase range.

Range: what to expect

The manual does not state a distance and there is no verified field-test figure for this model. PMR446 equipment is limited by law to 0.5 W ERP, so terrain decides: open ground or hilltops with a clear line of sight give the most distance; buildings, trees, hills and indoor walls cut it down sharply. Before relying on a set at work, check two-way speech between the actual positions, especially stairwells and obstructed areas.

Manual & settings

  • No software is needed to start talking. Channel and volume work from the radio itself.
  • Programming: privacy codes (50 CTCSS tones plus DCS codes), VOX, scan and the side-key functions are set from a PC through the speaker/mic jack. The programming cable is not included and the software is not in the Download Centre yet – request the current file by email. If your team needs a fixed channel plan across many radios, tell us in your quote request.

FAQ

Do I need a licence?
No. PMR446 is licence-free for private and business use across the EU and the UK.
Will it talk to our other PMR446 radios?
For compatible analogue PMR446 sets, the actual frequency and the CTCSS/DCS settings must match, or tones must be off on both radios. A matching channel number alone is not proof.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 118 hours on standby, or about 18 hours of typical use (5% transmit, 5% receive, 90% standby). The battery is detachable: open the back cover at the groove to swap it.
Is it waterproof?
No IP rating is declared. Keep it out of rain and water. It is rated to work from −20 °C to +50 °C.
Can I use it in the USA?
No. This edition works on the European PMR446 band. For the United States we list a separate FRS edition of the TG-A1.
What if my TG-A1 stops working?
2-year warranty and 30-day returns. Email ka@jucjet.com with your order number and a short description of the problem (charging, switching on, receiving or transmitting).
