Walkie Talkies for Hotels & Restaurants

Front desk, housekeeping, kitchen and bar on one channel. A guest asks for extra towels, a table needs clearing, a delivery is at the back door – with radios the message reaches the right person in a second, without walking, phoning or shouting across the floor.

A typical hotel or restaurant setup

  • Small restaurant or café (5–10 radios): compact T20 Mini or 88E sets for front of house and kitchen, braided-cable headsets so guests hear nothing.
  • Hotel (10–30 radios): 88E sets for reception, housekeeping and maintenance; separate channels on request; acoustic-tube earpieces for the lobby team.

EP31 — other two-way radio options

  • Resort or venue with outdoor areas (30+ radios): EP31 remains available for discussion, but dust and splash protection for the supplied batch has not been verified. Request batch documents and a site trial before selecting it for exposed areas; keep it dry until confirmed.

What matters in hospitality

Check earpiece fit, battery runtime, drop and moisture suitability on the exact units. Agree a channel plan and test two-way coverage at your site before choosing a fleet.

Licence-free PMR446 use depends on a compliant radio and the country of use. We check the exact model and documents before confirming a fleet plan; there is no airtime fee for radio-to-radio calls.

At each handover, keep charged radios available for the incoming shift, then put returned radios on charge. Tell us your shift times, where charging will take place and how many spare radios you need in addition to the simultaneous users.

EU and UK PMR446 teams: these radio examples are for EU/UK enquiries. Confirm the exact version, channels and conformity documents before assuming licence-free use; they are not US FRS advice. US buyers should start with the H888S FRS information and confirm their market before ordering.

How many radios and channels for a team of ten?

Hotel: start with one radio for each of ten people who must be reachable at once, plus spares for handovers. Five 2-packs or one 6-pack plus one 4-pack make ten radios; the two pack sizes count separately toward volume discounts. Start on one shared channel; request a second for housekeeping only if its traffic should stay off reception's channel. Check speech between reception, the farthest floor, stairwells and back-of-house.
Restaurant or café: for ten people on shift, five 2-packs or two 4-packs plus one 2-pack are planning examples. Start with one channel for service, kitchen and bar. Test the kitchen pass, farthest table, terrace and cellar. T20 Mini or 88E and braided headsets are starting points, subject to your actual site.

On one channel, only one person speaks at a time. A separate channel also means that team will not hear the main channel unless someone switches. PMR446 has 16 channels; CTCSS/DCS sub-codes do not encrypt speech or extend range. These are planning examples, not verified deployments or a coverage guarantee. PMR446 is limited to 0.5 W ERP; floors, stairwells and equipment rooms change reception. Keep your existing emergency procedures.

Planning basis: 88E model notes, current pack-size tiers and the site conditions above; reviewed 25 September 2026. Tell us your country, simultaneous users, site and needed-by date.

Count radios and accessories separately. Do not read the radio count as one complete radio-and-accessory set per person; check which colleagues need an earpiece or microphone and count spare radios separately.
