The JUCJET TG-A1 FRS is a slim, license-free two way radio for families, campers and small crews in the United States: 22 FRS channels, 50 CTCSS tones plus DCS codes, hands-free VOX, a channel lock and a detachable 1000 mAh battery that charges over USB-C, with up to 118 hours on standby. It is sold as a 2-pack in sky blue, blue or green. FCC ID: XBPTG-A1. Quick start

  1. Charge first. Each radio runs on a detachable 3.7 V 1000 mAh Li-ion battery. The supplied USB charger’s 2-in-1 USB-C cable charges both radios at once; a phone charger, power bank or laptop works too. Do not transmit while the radio is charging.
  2. Same channel on every radio. Switch both radios on with the top knob, then pick the same channel with the two side keys. If a radio has the channel lock on, the side keys will not change the channel – that is intended, so nobody changes channel by accident.
  3. Talk. Press and hold PTT, wait half a second, then speak; release to listen. Only one radio can transmit on a channel at a time.
  4. Privacy codes, VOX and side-key functions are set with PC programming software and a programming cable through the speaker/mic jack (cable not included). The radio works out of the box without them.

Channels & frequencies

The table is the standard 22-channel FRS plan set by FCC rules (47 CFR Part 95, Subpart B), not a readout of this radio’s factory settings. The TG-A1 runs up to 2 W on channels 1–7 and 15–22 and 0.5 W on channels 8–14, as the FRS rules allow; its FCC grant lists up to 1.91 W ERP on the 462 MHz channels and 0.49 W ERP on the 467 MHz channels.

CTCSS/DCS is selective squelch, not encryption; it does not make the channel private or increase range.

Range: what to expect

The manual does not state a distance and there is no verified field-test figure for this model. You get the most distance on open ground, water or hilltops with a clear line of sight; buildings, dense neighborhoods, forests and indoor walls cut it down sharply. Like other FRS handhelds, the TG-A1 is made for short-range use – across a campsite, a store or a job site. Test coverage between your actual positions before you rely on it.

Manual & settings

  • No software is needed to start talking. Channel and volume work from the radio itself.
  • Programming: privacy codes (50 CTCSS tones plus DCS codes), VOX, scan and the side-key functions are set from a PC through the speaker/mic jack. The programming cable is not included and the software is not in the Download Center yet – request the current file by email. If your team needs a fixed channel plan across many radios, tell us in your quote request.

FAQ

Do I need a license?
No. FRS radios are license-free for personal and business use in the United States.
Will it talk to other FRS radios?
Yes. Set both radios to the same channel and the same privacy code (or code off). If you can hear but not reach another group, check that the CTCSS/DCS code matches.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 118 hours on standby, or about 18 hours of typical use (5% transmit, 5% receive, 90% standby). The battery is detachable: open the back cover at the groove to swap it.
Is it waterproof?
No IP rating is declared. Keep it out of rain and water. It is rated to work from −20 °C to +50 °C.
Can I use it in Europe or the UK?
No. FRS is a North American band. For Europe and the UK we list a separate PMR446 edition of the TG-A1.
What if my TG-A1 stops working?
2-year warranty and 30-day returns. Email ka@jucjet.com with your order number and a short description of the problem (charging, switching on, receiving or transmitting).
